Another trip to Anglesey and the camera uploaded!!
This year has been lots of mini events it seems.
Last tuesday night saw us driving through the
night in a bid to see a very close almost-family
member before she died, sadly we didnt get there
in time but at least we were able to be there for
her daughter Haley. We expect we'll be going back
in a week or so for the funeral. We used the trip
to discuss King Henry,Edward and also John and
their varying relationships with the princes of
Wales and how Wales was eventually subdued. We
talked about Simon De Montfort and how modern
society and politics owes so much to him and his
ideals, how the Runnymede Charter is related to
modern politics etc.We also yakked about Electric
Mountain and how it works, and the slate
mines.Owain Glyndwr was a topic of conversation
too. So,the trips in the past 3 months havent been
wasted. We also talked about the ancient paths
across the Menai between Bangor and Anglesey, the
currents in the Straits, the causeway between
Anglesey and Holy Island and Wylfa Power
Station.Eclectic conversations indeed!!Oh and
Druids and the Romans.Oh I could go on ad
nauseam! The camera is finally uploading
properly, turns out it was something I wasnt doing
right that was so glaringly obvious I'm not
surprised it took me ages to figure out - just
one of those things but its sorted now thats the
important bit! I have popped a few pics on just
now and will do the rest later. Nicholas is
hungry again....boys....lmao!! Alexander has been
reading and learning so much through all these
ridiulously long journeys that we are quite
pleased with him.He has been cross stitching and
baking yummy cakes but otherwise not a right lot
but I guess he has learned a lot about history
and politics and geography. We currently have Flat
Stig in Washington DC, and it might be off to
Johannesburg soon too!We have also been looking
at nappies,ie the environmental impact of both
reusable and the disposable kind. With Nicholas
approaching weaning rapidly,we have been
discussing methods of weaning and babies dietary
requirements eg nutrients etc and also the Baby
Led Weaning approach which has fascinated
Alexander and myself and I think it is the
approach we want to try.Our job this week is to
fit a new garden gate and to get a load of stuff
into the cold frame. Thats all for
now,Yellowstone is on now! Oh,I'm reading The
Idle Parent by Tom Hodgkinson which is a read
that most parents should take the time for,it
certainly backs up a lot of what Liam and I
believe!
