Off to Wales we go again.... Tea towels, and other stuff
On tuesday we're off up to visit Grand-dad Jim
who is again quite poorly. We plan to also stop
in at Llanfairpwyll to see the trains and friends
who own a craft shop there. So,thats the major
part of our week blown out of the proverbial
window! Alexander has been baking again,he has
made an orange drizzle cake (this was quite a
thing for Alexander because he had to think on
his feet ie we had run out of lemons but he didnt
realise until he was well into the mixing process
so when he said to me I said that if a lemon is a
citrus fruit then is there another citrus in the
kitchen he could use as a substitute, and he tried
the orange) which was delicious,he has also made
a triple layered chocolate cake with buttercream.
Very nice. Alexander has been attacking my sewing
machine again and is measuring and planning in
preparation for making his bedspread. We are
reading Sherlock Holmes at the moment and
discussing what the social norms were at the time
(made evident through the use of drugs by Holmes
etc) and what are the norms today. This is
proving to be a complicated subject area as it
covers such a wide spread. We have also been
talking about why disciplines such as Psychology
are inexact subjects because humans are
contrary!! Digestion and allergies have been an
interesting subject too because Nicholas (now
just on 9 months old) is weaning at the moment
and because we make our won baby foods,Alexander
was interested in how to tell if and what is
causing any unwanted reactions. We have also been
back on the subject of the Moon landings since we
managed to get hold of an original Commemorative
Lunar Landings Newspaper - this has also added to
our discussions on social norms. Otherwise we
have had a house full of family friends which has
been nice,as I type,Alexander is being taught how
to make a curry in a traditional Sri Lankan way.
Smells fab!!
